(Oslo 21. March, 2012) Kavli Group has renewed its agreements with EVRY (the former EDB ErgoGroup) for operating services and monitoring of its servers and IT processes. The new agreement runs for three years, with an option to extend for a further one year. The agreement represents total contract value of NOK 15 million.
The operating services platform for which EVRY will continue to be responsible is of particular business-critical importance for Kavli. As Kavli continues to expand, the platform must deliver 24/7 availability for Kavli's more than 800 employees in 20 countries.
The agreement with Kavli provides for EVRY to deliver IT operating services for the central servers on which Kavli runs its applications. Kavli retains its own operations responsibility for these applications, while EVRY is responsible for monitoring the servers as well as Kavli's applications processes.
Kavli's applications run on iSeries (IBM Power Systems) and windows servers, in the main virtual servers, together with operating systems and databases.
The main reason for Kavli's decision to renew its agreement with EVRY is that the group is satisfied with the operating services that EVRY has delivered over the last five years. EVRY has also demonstrated flexibility in its deliveries, and in negotiating the renewal of the contract it put together the best combination of services and terms.
"Kavli is a demanding, proactive and challenging customer to work with, and successful collaboration is one of the success factors for this relationship", explains Thorolf Thorstensen, Head of IT Operations at EVRY, who goes on to say how pleased he is with the excellent collaboration that EVRY enjoys with Kavli.
"It was important for Kavli to choose a supplier that can deliver robust and reliable operations without service interruptions. We need a supplier that can also be flexible. At the same time the reliability and predictability of operational quality and costs were crucial factors in our decision", comments Tom in't Veen, Head of IT at Kavli Holding AS
