How Sandnes Sparebank became a mobile bank

 

Sandnes Sparebank has been working actively since 2009 on offering its customers a quality application on a mobile platform. The applications that were available on the market a couple of years ago were considered and found to light. Primarily, the bank wanted its mobile banking application to meet its customers' needs for simplicity of use, functionality and a good user experience.

Just before Christmas 2010 Sandnes Sparebank was introduced to the new Mobile bank 2. It was very easy to decide that this was the solution that Sandnes Sparebank wanted to adopt.

The importance of timing in the market

"The delivery time was especially important for Sandnes Sparebank. The bank wanted to launch the product before the summer, both to give its own customers better accessibility during the holiday period, but also to stay competitive in a very competitive market. The creative process had to be kept strictly under control in order to achieve this target. "As a result of excellent project management, Sandnes Sparebank, was the first bank out, and launched a mobile bank 2.0 solution to the market on June 15th," says Thomas Nygaard, Sandnes Sparebank's marketing director.

So how did the market respond?

The reception the product got, both internally and externally, exceeded all expectations. Internally, it created pride and enthusiasm. And our customers praised it to the skies. Considering that Sandnes Sparebank has less than 50,000 customers, it was remarkable that by July 1st there had been nearly 2,000 downloads to iPhones and 800 downloads from Android Market.
